The Space

Set on the edge of a small North Yorkshire village, Urkett House sits right alongside its own working farm — an award-winning farm shop, chickens, pigs, an outstanding café; a countryside feel that reminds you're getting away from it all. The house itself has been beautifully refurbished and providing spacious, comfortable living spaces, and stylish design throughout.


Kitchen, Dining & Living Room

This huge open-plan room is the heart of the house and is the perfect social area for cooking, eating and lounging. Patio doors run along one side and open onto the garden, so on warmer days the inside and outside garden can blur into one.

The kitchen is fully equipped to allow you to easily prepare anything you want, from delicious scrambled eggs (laid just next door) to ambitious show-stopper evening meals. The kitchen island also has a breakfast bar with stools for casual dining, drinks and socialising while the chef is at work.

The long dining table seats six with room to spare, for long lunches and evening meals stretching into the night. Across the room, the lounge area has a wall-mounted TV, a large corner sofa and a second sofa, meaning there's plenty of room for everyone to relax.

It's a space that handles a full house easily, still feeling spacious when busy, and calm during the quieter times of the day.

Sitting Room

The separate sitting room is a soothing and relaxing space. It has two generous sofas and a TV. It's the perfect place for an afternoon snooze or a quiet read. Or somewhere to sneak away to when the main room is busy.

Master Bedroom

This stylishly designed master bedroom has a super king-size bed, large wall-mounted TV and its own beautiful and luxurious en-suite. It's a restful room with all the comforts you need for a good night's sleep and a lazy morning.

En-Suite

The self-contained master en-suite bathroom has both a bath and a shower, allowing you to decide when you're ready to join the rest of your group.

Bedroom 2

Another super king-size room, spacious, bright, light and airy. There are also large wardrobes to hang your clothes during your stay.

A calming, cosy king-size bedroom to rest and relax in after a busy day.


Family Bathroom

The spa-like, large family bathroom has double sinks, a walk-in shower, and a centred freestanding bath. If relaxation is what you're looking for, look no further. Lock the door, run a bath and release the day to day stresses.

Gym & Yoga Space

The garage has been set up as a small gym - weight bench, dumbbells, kettlebells, and resistance cables, for anyone who wants to keep up with their fitness routine during a longer stay. Alongside it, a light-filled conservatory space with two yoga mats makes a good spot for an unhurried morning stretch or some floor work before the day starts.

Outside

The garden is enclosed and private with a raised patio, outdoor seating, a barbecue, and the quiet of the North Yorkshire countryside around it.

There's also an outdoor bath fed by a mains mixer tap, tucked into the garden and surprisingly enjoyable on a warm evening.

Beyond the garden fence is Yoke Farm itself, run by the same family: a working farm with a café-restaurant, animals to visit, and the kind of charm that makes an easy morning out, especially with children in tow.

Guest Access

The whole house is yours - all rooms, the garden, the gym, and the outdoor spaces. The driveway has ample parking for four cars.


Yolk Farm

Next to the house is Yolk Farm. Owned by the owners of the house, the farm has a restaurant, farm shop, a market garden and animals to meet.

The Yolk egg restaurant serves delicious and healthy brunches, lunches and snacks, with the eggs and many of the ingredients coming from the farm. It also serves teas, coffees, hot chocolates, cakes, beers and much more.

The award-winning farm shop sells locally produced artisan food and drink. This includes farm-laid free-range eggs, local sustainable meat, a super-healthy array of glorious seasonal vegetables from the market garden and a range of other food and drink, ideal for your stay.

You can also visit the hens ranging on their 6 hectare green paddock, shaded by fruit trees. Meet the Alpaca guardians and say hello to the greedy pigs and mischievous pygmy goats.

There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for you to enjoy the exceptional food and drink.

You have access to the whole house and garden.
